Preparing couples for remarriage is very different. We will address the key adjustment areas: children, finances, living arrangements and ex-spouses. You will learn how to guide a couple through developing "non-negotiables" - practical items that don't get discussed when "in love."
The participants will:
1. Learn to guide couples through remarriage preparation.
2. Address key adjustment areas such as children, finances, etc.
3. Identify "non-negotiables" in the areas of time, space, money and sex.
4. Define key areas of building intimacy and trust using the "intimacy ladder."

Description: Remarriage amplifies the hazards of handling money in marriage. Moving too quickly to an "ours" can be dangerous without exploring the tangibles that are being brought together (assets, debts, possessions) and the intangibles (attitudes, control issues, styles and trust). Learn how to help remarried couples tackle this area.
The participants will:
1. Guide stepcouples through discussing finances (pre or post-marriage).
2. Explore with stepcouples the tangibles of financial planning: assets, debts, possessions, etc.
3. Address with stepcouples the intangibles impacting their financial planning: personal values, attitudes, power, control, and financial styles.
4. Share different models for handling stepfamily finances.
